1988年，宁静的乡村里，女性接连遇害。这部犯罪惊悚剧取材自真实的华城连环杀人案，围绕着几乎没留下任何线索的案件，刑警与村民之间的猜疑层层缠绕。在仿佛停滞的乡村日常之下，一股谁也无法信任的气息缓缓蔓延开来。

仿佛时间停留在1980年代的舒川板桥村，褪色的招牌与老酿酒坊街道，加上废弃的旧素砂警察署，共同营造出剧集特有的阴郁年代感。板桥村是整条近代街景都被完整保留的保存村落，很适合慢慢逛；若选在平日午后造访，连无人巷弄的那份寂静都能尽情体会。
