Cáceres Ciudad Monumental old town Extremadura Spain

The streets of King's Landing return to the old town of Caceres in Extremadura, Spain, for season 3. The UNESCO listed monumental city keeps its medieval walls, stone alleys, and noble mansions intact; enter from Plaza Mayor through the Arco de la Estrella. About 3 hours by train from Madrid.

Craig yr Undeb Union Rock Llanberis Gwynedd Wales

Harrenhal, the cursed great castle, was filmed at Craig yr Undeb (Union Rock) in Gwynedd, Wales. The crag rises beside Llyn Padarn near the village of Llanberis and is a historic site where 19th century quarrymen's unions once gathered. The Welsh Government officially confirmed it as a season 3 location, an easy stop from Llanberis, the gateway to Eryri (Snowdonia).

Beaumaris Pier Anglesey Wales

Driftmark, seat of House Velaryon, moved its harbor scenes to Beaumaris Pier on Anglesey for season 3, taking over from St Michael's Mount of earlier seasons. The Victorian pier looks across the Menai Strait toward the peaks of Eryri, and the UNESCO listed Beaumaris Castle is a five minute walk away.

Llanddwyn Island Newborough Anglesey Wales

Driftmark's coastline was filmed on Llanddwyn Island and in Newborough Forest at the southwestern tip of Anglesey. The tidal island, crowned by the Twr Mawr lighthouse and Celtic crosses, is also Wales's pilgrimage site for lovers and can only be reached on foot at low tide. From the Newborough Forest car park it is about a 20 minute walk along the beach.
