Wells Cathedral, Cathedral Green, Wells, Somerset BA5 2UE, United Kingdom
The cathedral of Wells in Somerset, where the palace interiors and the big battle were filmed. According to the English regional film office, the nave was cleared of chairs and fittings and dressed as a set piece battle, while the Chapter House became the bed chamber of a senior member of the royal family. Filming ran from May 20 to June 14, 2025, yet the cathedral closed to the public for only two days, June 4 and 5, and its head of filming, Matthew Minter, told the local press that filming is a vital source of income for the building. Sightseeing admission runs Monday to Saturday from 09.00 to 16.30 and Sunday from 12.00 to 14.00. Adults pay £15.50, ages 5 to 17 pay £5, late entry after 15.30 costs £10, and a joint ticket with the Bishop's Palace is £22. Coming in to worship, pray or light a candle is free.
Wookey Hole Caves, Wookey Hole, Wells, Somerset BA5 1BB, United Kingdom
A show cave that shares the Wells postal address with the cathedral. The English regional film office states that the Skeletor's castle scene was shot here, though some Somerset outlets have treated that identification as unconfirmed and Wookey Hole itself does not promote the film. What is not in dispute is that the production used the site as its unit base. It still sells tickets as a visitor attraction, and one ticket covers the cave tour, the circus and the 4D cinema. It runs location hire and filming services as a business line, so do not expect displays or signage about the film.
Beer Quarry Caves, Quarry Ln, Beer, Seaton, Devon EX12 3AT, United Kingdom
Eternia's underworld is a quarry cave in Beer, Devon. The 2000-year-old man-made maze dates back to Roman times, and where the beer stone was cut out there remains a great hall of vaulted roofs and pillars. Of the three sites, this is the only one that advertises the connection itself, telling visitors on its official pages that many scenes from the June 2026 release were filmed here and inviting them to spot where. Entry is by guided tour only, the caves open daily at 10.00, and the season ends on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Adults pay £15.00, children aged 5 to 16 and visitors over 66 pay £12.50, a family ticket for two adults and two children is £50.00, and under-fives go free. Tours take set numbers, so booking ahead is the safer move.
