Villa Rusconi-Clerici Via Vittorio Veneto 12 Verbania Pallanza Italy
A late 19th century villa in the Pallanza district of Verbania, right on Lake Maggiore. In season 2 it is where Eddie and Susie do their Italian business. The crew built a temporary jetty at the water in front of the garden to film the characters arriving by speedboat. The garden steps down to the shore in terraces. It is not a hotel, so there is no staying the night, and both visits and event hire are by appointment.
Grand Hotel Majestic Via Vittorio Veneto 32 Verbania Pallanza Italy
A hotel on the Pallanza waterfront that opened in 1870. Season 2 filmed scenes around the wedding here. It is a few hundred metres from Villa Rusconi-Clerici along the lakefront, and unlike the villa, you can book a room and stay.
Chiesa di San Leonardo Pallanza Verbania Italy
The Catholic parish church on the Pallanza waterfront, where season 2 filmed the wedding ceremony. Production designer Martyn John said the Italian shoot lasted only two weeks, so the villa, a church, a village, a town square and a hotel all had to be found within the same area.
Badminton House Badminton South Gloucestershire
A country house in the village of Badminton, South Gloucestershire. As in season 1, it plays the exterior of Halstead Manor, the Horniman family seat. Location manager Iggy Ellis said it felt immediately right for Halstead because it is a proper, lived-in home rather than a National Trust museum. The Duke and Duchess of Beaufort live here, so the house is generally closed apart from occasional heritage open days. The estate hosts events such as the Badminton Horse Trials.
Salisbury Cathedral The Close Salisbury Wiltshire
The cathedral in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Season 2 filmed a conversation between Eddie and Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito) inside. Completed in the 13th century, it is an Early English Gothic building, and its spire rises 123 metres. The Chapter House holds one of the surviving original copies of the 1215 Magna Carta, and on screen Stanley pauses mid conversation to look at it.
Swakeleys House Milton Road Ickenham Uxbridge
A Jacobean mansion built in 1638 in Ickenham, in the London Borough of Hillingdon. In season 2 it becomes St. Bartholomew's, the rehab facility where Eddie's older brother Freddy is staying. It is usually closed and opens on only a few days a year during London's open house festivals. The house can be seen from Swakeleys Park, a public park that was once part of the estate.
