明治时代的松江。松野时是没落上级士族家的女儿，性子有些古怪，偏爱怪谈。父亲经商失利、家中日子过不下去之后，走投无路的她进了新到松江的外国英语教师家中做住家女佣。这位生于希腊的爱尔兰人幼年被父母丢下，在亲戚之间辗转寄居，一路漂泊到日本。两人起初为语言不通所困，后来发觉彼此境遇相似，便夜夜围坐讲起怪谈。本剧是NHK晨间剧，共125集，以小泉八云之妻小泉节子为原型，人物姓名与情节都经过改写虚构。
两处取景地该去的时段正好相反。宍道湖畔的岸公园只属于日落时分。2025年12月26日播出的那场夕阳戏就在这里拍摄，而松江的日落时刻一年之内可相差一个多小时，出发前查好当天的时间，提前半小时站到湖边为好。八重垣神社则要趁白天去。即便是剧组拍摄的五月那样日照长的时节，镜之池被树林围住，午后一斜就迅速转暗。神社在市区南郊，岸公园在湖的东北岸，两地之间靠公交或自驾往返。上午看完神社回到市区，顺路去松江市役所一楼的《怪变》剧集展馆（免费，9时至16时30分，开放至2027年3月31日），再赶在天光散尽前走向湖畔，一天的行程就顺了。不少人会把松江城与小泉八云旧居一并纳入行程，但岛根县观光联盟把那些地方标为八云夫妇生活往来的渊源之地，而非拍摄地。

八重垣神社 島根県松江市佐草町
Filmed here over two days, May 21 and 22, 2025. The Shimane Film Commission, run by the prefecture's tourism federation, announced the shoot, and the cast held a location report event in Matsue the next day. The shrine is known for matchmaking, and behind the main hall, in a grove, lies Kagami-no-ike, the mirror pond where visitors float a slip of paper to read a fortune in love. The grounds stay open and cost nothing to enter. It sits south of central Matsue, reached by bus or car, and because the pond stands under trees it pays to arrive while the light holds.
岸公園 島根県松江市袖師町
The stretch of shore where the Lake Shinji sunset scene, filmed in September 2025 and broadcast that December 26, was shot. It is a waterfront park in front of the Shimane Art Museum, with no gate and no fence, so you walk straight in at any hour. The lake opens to the west, the sun drops beyond the water, and the small island of Yomegashima keeps its silhouette out on the surface. Sunset travels a long way through the year, so check the time for the day you go before setting out.
