This is the campus that plays Hanguk Arts High School. Red brick buildings and old trees stand close together here, which is why school-set dramas have been coming to this address for years. It appears as the school Kang Pi-o and Hong Jae-in attend, and the scene of Song Kang and Lee Jun-young sitting on the front gate talking was shot here too. Classes still run at Daemyung after Keimyung moved its main campus to Seongseo, so a visit means the grounds and the gate rather than the buildings themselves.
This chapel stands in for the arts school auditorium, and it is where Kang Pi-o collects his commendation in front of the whole student body. It belongs to the same university as the Daemyung campus that plays the school grounds, but the two sit in different districts of Daegu, Nam-gu and Dalseo-gu, so seeing both in one day means crossing the city. Services and university events run here, and the hours the doors are open shift from day to day.
This is the neighbourhood Choi Jeong-yo lives in and the route his days run along. Floors of instrument shops made it the obvious backdrop for a character who cannot keep a piano of his own, and both the arcade building and its basement passage appear on screen. Exit 5 of Jongno 3-ga station on Line 3 leaves you a short walk away. The shops are trading, not dressed sets, so keep the aisles clear and ask before photographing stock. Insa-dong, Ikseon-dong and Tapgol Park are all within walking distance, which makes this easy to fold into a Jongno backstreet walk.
The concert where Professor Do Hyeon-su shares the stage with Kang Seung-woon, the conductor who is Kang Pi-o's grandfather, was filmed here. Bucheon built the hall for classical programming and opened it in May 2023; the Bucheon Philharmonic is resident. Bucheon City Hall station on Line 7 is the nearest stop. Getting into the auditorium means holding a ticket for that day, so check the calendar before making the trip.
The stage Kang Pi-o plays on in the Prague competition final that opens episode one is here. The building outside is the Rudolfinum in Prague, while the seats and the stage were filmed in Guri, which puts one scene across two countries. The hall is run by the city, so local performances and hired dates alternate through the calendar. Casual visits amount to the lobby; the main auditorium takes a ticket on a performance day.
Rudolfinum Alsovo nabrezi 79/12 Stare Mesto Prague
This is the concert hall that appears as the venue for the Prague competition in the opening of episode one. It is a Neo-Renaissance building on the bank of the Vltava, and Dvořák Hall inside is the home of the Czech Philharmonic. International competitions really are held here, so the drama's premise is not far from the fact. Staroměstská on metro line A is a few minutes' walk, and even on nights with nothing on, the facade reads best from the far bank.
Karluv most Prague 1
The bridge stretch of the Prague opening was filmed here. It is a pedestrian stone bridge over the Vltava, lined along both parapets with statues of saints. Daytime crowds leave none of the emptiness the shot has, so crossing before sunrise or late at night gets closer to it. It sits on the same stretch of river as the Rudolfinum, which makes the two easy to walk between.
Vysehrad V Pevnosti Praha 2
The stretch of the opening that simply shows Prague is this hill. Old ramparts survive on the rise south of the Vltava, and the twin-spired Basilica of St Peter and St Paul stands inside them. It draws far fewer visitors than the old town, which makes the wall path a good walk. Coming up from Vyšehrad station on metro line C puts the river and the city in a single view.
