In 1988, women keep dying one after another in a sleepy rural village. A crime thriller drawing its motif from the real Hwaseong serial murders, it follows a detective and the townsfolk as suspicion tangles around a case that leaves almost no evidence behind. Beneath the still, unchanging rhythm of country life, an air of mistrust slowly rises until no one can be trusted.

The faded shop signs and old brewery streets of Pangyo Village in Seocheon (frozen as if in the 1980s) together with the shuttered former Sosa Police Station, conjure the drama's signature gloomy period atmosphere.
