Buntzen Lake

Buntzen Lake Recreation Area is open to the public and managed by BC Hydro, with a day-use fee applicable during peak season — check BC Hydro's recreation site listings for current rates and seasonal hours before visiting. The southern parking lot provides the most direct access to the shoreline areas visible in the episode; walk north along the west-side trail for approximately 300 metres to reach open lakeside ground with clear sightlines across the water toward the forested eastern slopes. Morning visits between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. offer the flattest, most mirror-like water surface, closest in appearance to the shots used in the episode. The recreation area connects to the Buntzen Lake Trail, a roughly 10-kilometre loop that circumnavigates the lake, and is accessible via lnlet Drive from Anmore. No dogs are permitted on the main beach area during summer months.
