Cleveland Dam is accessible year-round via Capilano River Regional Park, which is free to enter and managed by Metro Vancouver. The dam crest is reached by a short walk from the main Capilano River Regional Park parking area off Capilano Road, North Vancouver — allow roughly five to ten minutes on foot from the lot. For the clearest view of the span and the gorge below, position yourself on the dam crest itself; the railing along the upstream face also provides an unobstructed line of sight toward Capilano Lake. Morning visits on weekdays tend to see lighter foot traffic than weekend afternoons, when the adjacent Capilano Suspension Bridge attracts large numbers of visitors to the surrounding area. The suspension bridge is a ticketed private attraction located approximately 800 metres south of the dam and is a common pairing for the same visit. Wear layered clothing regardless of season, as the gorge environment can be several degrees cooler and windier than surrounding North Vancouver streets.
