The reserve entrance is located in San Marcos La Laguna, reachable by the regular lanchas (motorised passenger boats) that connect the lake's villages; the crossing from Panajachel takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes. An entry fee, typically in the range of 20 to 30 Guatemalan quetzales as of 2024, is charged at the gate, and the trail to the jump platform follows a short forested path [S7]. For the clearest view of the 'trampoline' platform against the lake backdrop that appears in the film, arrive before 11:00 a.m., when morning light comes from the east and the caldera's far wall is fully illuminated. The platform is accessible to the public for jumping on standard visit days, though conditions vary by season — the dry season, roughly November through April, offers the most consistent visibility and calmer water. Combining the visit with a walk through San Marcos La Laguna village, which has a concentration of small guesthouses and cafes along the lakefront, is straightforward on foot.
