David Burroughs, a Boston law professor, is serving time in Briggs Penitentiary for the murder of his own young son, a crime he did not commit. When a clue surfaces that the boy may still be alive, he stops waiting out his sentence. Netflix's eight part limited series adapts Harlan Coben's novel, developed for television by Robert Hull, and premiered on June 18, 2026.
Kingston Penitentiary was a Canadian federal prison until its last day of operation on September 30, 2013. It runs as a ticketed tour site now, so the halls that stand in for the show's Briggs Penitentiary are ones visitors walk through themselves. The 2026 season opens April 4 and closes October 31, with tours from the 45 minute Express at C$27.13 to the two and a half hour Extended at C$81.13, guided in English and French. The University of Toronto Mississauga campus lies on the far side of Toronto, so it belongs to a different day than Kingston, while Washington Square Park, Central Park and Times Square come from the New York pickup shoot and fit into one Manhattan day.

Kingston Penitentiary 560 King Street West Kingston Ontario Canada
The real prison used for Briggs Penitentiary, where David Burroughs serves his sentence. The Canadian federal government announced its closure in April 2012 and the last day of operation was September 30, 2013. Kingston Pen Tours now runs visitor programs that go inside the cell blocks. The 2026 season opens April 4 and closes October 31, and tours come as a 45 minute Express at C$27.13, a 90 minute Standard at C$42.13, or a two and a half hour Extended at C$81.13. The campus was among the Ontario locations used during the April to August 2025 shoot. Local Mississauga press reported the production's arrival, but the scenes filmed here have never been identified. The University of Toronto's Mississauga campus sits west of downtown Toronto at 3359 Mississauga Road. It is a public university, so the grounds and courtyards are open to walk through.
Washington Square Park New York NY 10012 USA
Harlan Coben said himself that additional scenes were shot in and around this park in late August 2025. The scuffle between Skunk and David that ends in a shooting was filmed here. A public park in Greenwich Village ringed by NYU buildings, it holds Washington Square Arch at the foot of Fifth Avenue. There is no gate and no admission, and the fountain plaza draws a crowd at almost any hour.
Central Park Manhattan New York NY USA
Coben named this park alongside Washington Square Park and Times Square for the late August 2025 pickup shoot, without saying which scenes were captured. It runs more than four kilometers north to south through the middle of Manhattan, long enough to swallow a day if you walk in with no destination. Entrances ring the whole perimeter, so pick a subway stop and a gate before you go.
Times Square Manhattan New York NY 10036 USA
Coben listed this among the same late August pickups. It is the wedge where Broadway crosses Seventh Avenue, walled in by screens and theater marquees that need no dressing to read as themselves. The square never closes and costs nothing to stand in. Come after dark, when the screens carry the light, and it looks closest to what the show puts on screen.
