Overview +

Mason, a former MI6 assassin, hides out on a remote island in Scotland's Outer Hebrides with only his dog for company, and his one link to the outside world is Jesse, a girl who crosses by boat to drop off his supplies. On a stormy day he pulls Jesse out of the sea, and that rescue puts the organisation that wants him dead back on his trail. Protecting Jesse, Mason has to face the past he buried. Jason Statham plays Mason and Bodhi Rae Breathnach plays Jesse, with Bill Nighy also in the cast, and Ric Roman Waugh directed. The story is set in Scotland, but the island scenes were shot on the coast of County Wicklow in Ireland. The film opened in South Korean cinemas on 15 April 2026 and ranked first on Netflix's South Korea top 10 for films in the week of 7 to 13 September 2026. That week was its third in the top 10.

To see the film's remote Scottish island, go to Wicklow Town on Ireland's east coast. Travelahawk Beach, where the lighthouse set stood, lies just below the ruins of the Black Castle. Walk from Main Street to the castle and take the steps down to the beach, and you cover both locations in one visit. Enniskerry was built as the village for the nearby Powerscourt Estate, so after a look at the clock tower where Statham was filming, carry on to the Powerscourt gardens.

01

Travelahawk Beach Wicklow County Wicklow Ireland

A pebble beach just below the ruins of the Black Castle in Wicklow Town. According to Wicklow County Tourism, the crew turned it into a remote Scottish island in spring 2025, building a new lighthouse for the shoot on the upper cliff and a shelter set along the beach, and also filming the island from the sea. A local news site in the Hebrides likewise reported that Wicklow Town and this beach stood in for the Hebridean shoreline. Tradition holds that St Patrick first tried to land here on his return to Ireland in 432, which is why it is also called St Patrick's Landing, and Vikings: Valhalla has filmed here often. Steps make it easy to get down, and because it is sheltered from the wind, swimmers come here all year round.

02

Black Castle Wicklow Town County Wicklow Ireland

Castle ruins on a rocky headland jutting into the sea at the eastern side of Wicklow Town. The castle first appears in the records in 1174, after the Normans arrived, and was attacked again and again by local chieftains. Wicklow County Tourism lists it among the Shelter filming locations but has not said which scene was shot here. From the ruins you look out over the town and the coast to the north. It is an easy walk from Main Street, and Travelahawk Beach lies just below the castle to the south.

03

Enniskerry Clock Tower Enniskerry County Wicklow Ireland

The clock tower in the middle of Enniskerry village in County Wicklow. Over St Patrick's weekend in March 2025, Jason Statham was spotted filming in front of it, and Irish radio stations and showbiz outlets reported the sighting one after another. A local news site in the Hebrides said the crew captured picturesque village scenes in Enniskerry, but which scenes in the film they are has not been made public. Enniskerry was built as the village for the nearby Powerscourt Estate, and its cafes, shops and picture-postcard cottages are gathered together.
