Lonnie 'The Hawk' Hawkins was the top-ranked golfer in the world in 2004 and is now playing out the back nine of his career. His body says it is time to stop, and he is the only one who disagrees. His ex-wife knows his moment has passed, and so does Lance, his son and the sport's new favourite. Lonnie keeps doing the arithmetic anyway: one more major and the career grand slam is his. Will Ferrell created the Netflix comedy with Harper Steele and Chris Henchy and stars in it, and all ten episodes arrived at once on July 16, 2026.
If you take one photograph, take it at Pelican Hill. The course and the resort share a bluff above Newport Coast, and the Pacific and the fairways fall into the same frame without a club in your hand. Netflix published the locations itself: an August 10, 2026 post on its corporate newsroom said the Will Ferrell comedy shot for 67 days at more than 40 places around Los Angeles, and it listed the golf clubs and hotels by name. The story is set in Pensacola, Florida, but the cameras stood mostly in Southern California. The post never matched a scene to an address, so treat this as a list of places rather than a shot-by-shot hunt. Eight of the named sites can actually be visited. The golf trio, Pelican Hill, Sand Canyon in Santa Clarita and Pacific Palms in the City of Industry, sit far apart, so plan one a day. The city stops behave differently: the Los Angeles Athletic Club downtown, the W in Hollywood and the Marina del Rey Hotel string together by car in an afternoon. The remaining clubs on the list are members only and will turn you back at the gate.

The official address is 22701 Pelican Hill Road South, Newport Coast, where the course and the resort share a bluff above the Pacific. General public tee times can be booked fourteen days ahead and availability is limited; resort guests may reserve at the time they book their stay. The course is under renovation, so 18-hole and 9-hole play opens only on select dates, and the North Course nine is posted through November 15.
Sand Canyon Country Club 27734 Sand Canyon Rd Santa Clarita CA 91387 USA
Another course on the same list, in Santa Clarita at 27734 Sand Canyon Rd. It reopened on the bones of the old Robinson Ranch Golf Club, and its own site states that it is now open to the public, with tee times booked online. It sits well north of central Los Angeles, so it is easier to give it its own day than to string it with the city stops.

A press release dated August 21, 2026 sits on the hotel's press site, which confirms it is still trading. Anyone can book a room; what Netflix never disclosed is which scene was shot on the property.

Netflix listed this one as the W Hotel in Hollywood. It stands at 6250 Hollywood Blvd and still operates under the W flag. Metro's B Line, the old Red Line, stops at Hollywood/Vine right beside it, which makes it the easiest of the eight to reach without a car. It works as the starting point for the city half of the trip.
