It is a Western-style brick building behind the historic Unhyeongung palace, now managed by Duksung Women's University. The old-world silhouette of red brick and arched windows suits the setting of a home inhabited by an immortal being. You can pair it with a visit to Unhyeongung, though the annex interior is not always open, so it is best enjoyed from the outside.

The flashbacks to Kim Shin's days as a Goryeo military general, moving between battlefield and palace, were filmed at Naju Image Theme Park in South Jeolla. It is a large open set that recreates the fortress walls and tiled houses of the Three Kingdoms and Goryeo eras, and a well-worn location for many historical dramas. The past of armor-clad Kim Shin and his tragic story unfolds against these ramparts and courtyards. The set sits on a hill with a sea view, making it popular as a photo backdrop as well.

Château Frontenac Quebec City Canada

The signature scene where Ji Eun-tak and the goblin reunite in a foreign alley was filmed in Quebec, Canada. The Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac and the cobblestone lanes of Petit Champlain below the hill appear as a European-style backdrop that completes the drama's dreamlike mood. Its symbolism is so strong that Korean fan visits to Quebec rose sharply after the show aired. The old town is walkable, and the viewpoint looking up at the castle from the riverside is closest to the filming angle.

The yellow used bookshop where Kim Shin and Ji Eun-tak bicker their way down the lane in episode 6, ruffling each other's hair. The shot of Kim Shin reading against a wooden post was filmed here as well. Open since 1955, it anchors the Baedari used book street, and the yellow facade and wooden posts are unchanged, framed best head-on from the opposite side of the narrow lane.

The night walk in episode 4 where Kim Shin, tipsy on two cans of beer, admits that only the goblin's bride can draw the sword from his chest. A sculpture of the sword driven into a wooden post now marks the filming spot and serves as the park's photo point. A level path runs along the lake, so reaching the sculpture on foot takes little effort.

A thousand-year-old temple founded in the 20th year of Silla's King Munmu, used for the scene where the goblin sends up a sky lantern. It sits on the northeastern slope of Seounsan, and the long stone stairway climbing to the main hall gave the drama much of its otherworldly air. The steps are steep in stretches, so sturdy walking shoes help.

The church used for the scene in which Ji Eun-tak blows out a candle and summons Kim Shin. The hush of the sanctuary sets off the arrival of a being who does not belong to it. It is a Catholic martyrs' site holding the remains of Father Kim Taegon and still draws pilgrims, so visitors should stay quiet and refrain from photography during Mass and prayer.

The buckwheat field that doubled as Kim Shin's private world behind the door, and where Ji Eun-tak's surprise kiss became the couple's first. The drama's wedding scene was shot on the same farm. Covering roughly 560,000 square meters, the hills turn green with young barley in spring and white with buckwheat blossoms in autumn, and the tracks between the plots climb to a ridge with a view over the whole expanse.

An Open Port era social club building, used for the scene where the Grim Reaper calls on the goblin and the two sit face to face. It is one of the old town stops on the original Goblin course mapped out by the Incheon Tourism Organization, and its position on the southern slope below Jayu Park makes it an easy extension of a walk through the park. The restored interior is open as an exhibition on the social life of Incheon's port-opening years.

The hilltop park on Eungbongsan that appears repeatedly in the drama, including the proposal scene. Korea's first Western-style park looks down on Incheon Harbor, and from the crest the old open port quarter and the sea come into view together. It is a central stop on the Incheon Tourism Organization's original Goblin course, reached by the stairways rising straight up from Chinatown.
