The Seoul Metropolitan Library opened in 2012 inside the former Seoul City Hall main building, a 1926 landmark whose original hall and marble staircase were carefully preserved. In the 'Gentleman' video, PSY and his dancers perform the 'arrogant dance' in front of the library's five-meter wall of books and along its tiered, stair-style reading room. It is still a free public library open to all, sitting right on Seoul Plaza across from Deoksugung Palace in the heart of downtown.
