Ae-sun, a spirited and rebellious girl, and Gwan-sik, a steadfast boy, are born in 1950s Jeju. This Jeju period drama traces the winding life they share as a couple and as parents across the span of a lifetime, told like the turning of the four seasons — a family saga set against fierce winds, tangerine groves and the sea of the haenyeo divers.
From the haenyeo's sea at Gimnyeong Coast to the rolling yellow canola of Seopjikoji, Jeju's landscape itself becomes the stage for a period drama that bears witness to an era. Walk slowly along the old village lanes of Gwangnyeong-ri and the stone walls of the Jeju-mok Government Office to trace the lifetime of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik.
