Kim Shin, a goblin cursed with immortality, wanders for 900 years in search of the goblin's bride who can finally end his life. He becomes entangled with Ji Eun-tak, a girl who survived a fated death and can see the dead, along with a memory-less Grim Reaper and Sunny, the daughter of a wealthy family, moving through a love and parting that feel like destiny. Written by Kim Eun-sook and directed by Lee Eung-bok, this 16-part fantasy romance aired on tvN in 2016 to 2017 and became a cable phenomenon.
Goblin's filming locations are hot again on the drama's tenth anniversary. When tvN's Goblin 10th Anniversary Trip aired in July 2026, with Gong Yoo, Kim Go-eun, Lee Dong-wook and Yoo In-na returning to Jumunjin in Gangneung, the Jumunjin breakwater where Ji Eun-tak summoned Kim Shin by blowing out her candle came back to life as the number one pilgrimage spot. Link it to the 900-year residence at Seoul's Unhyeongung Western Annex, the Goryeo flashbacks at Naju Image Theme Park in South Jeolla, and the alleys of Quebec in Canada, and you can retrace the drama's whole mood. The sea wind on the breakwater is strong, so shoot from inside the railing, and pairing it with Jumunjin fish market and an old seafood restaurant makes a comfortable half-day route.

The scene that became the drama's emblem was born here. The famous episode-one moment, where Ji Eun-tak blows out her birthday candle and unwittingly summons the goblin Kim Shin, then stands face to face with him for the first time, was filmed at the tip of the open breakwater in Jumunjin, Gangneung. The red lighthouse and stone pier remain almost structurally unchanged a decade on, which is why it drew fresh attention as the pilgrimage site the cast revisited on the 2026 Goblin 10th Anniversary Trip. The wind is strong out toward the end, so take care.

The exterior of the 900-year-old residence where the goblin Kim Shin lives with the Grim Reaper was filmed at the Unhyeongung Western Annex in Jongno, Seoul. It is a Western-style brick building behind the historic Unhyeongung palace, now managed by Duksung Women's University. The old-world silhouette of red brick and arched windows suits the setting of a home inhabited by an immortal being. You can pair it with a visit to Unhyeongung, though the annex interior is not always open, so it is best enjoyed from the outside.

The flashbacks to Kim Shin's days as a Goryeo military general, moving between battlefield and palace, were filmed at Naju Image Theme Park in South Jeolla. It is a large open set that recreates the fortress walls and tiled houses of the Three Kingdoms and Goryeo eras, and a well-worn location for many historical dramas. The past of armor-clad Kim Shin and his tragic story unfolds against these ramparts and courtyards. The set sits on a hill with a sea view, making it popular as a photo backdrop as well.
Château Frontenac Quebec City Canada
The signature scene where Ji Eun-tak and the goblin reunite in a foreign alley was filmed in Quebec, Canada. The Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac and the cobblestone lanes of Petit Champlain below the hill appear as a European-style backdrop that completes the drama's dreamlike mood. Its symbolism is so strong that Korean fan visits to Quebec rose sharply after the show aired. The old town is walkable, and the viewpoint looking up at the castle from the riverside is closest to the filming angle.
