Released in July 2012, PSY's "Gangnam Style" broke YouTube view records more than once and stamped K-pop onto the global market. The horse dance, the yellow suit and the place name Gangnam were remembered as a single package.
The title says Gangnam, but the signature scenes are not in Gangnam. The subway sequence where PSY and HyunA dance facing each other was shot at International Business District Station on Incheon Line 1, and the carousel scene at Seoul Children's Grand Park. Both are still running, so a ticket or a short walk puts you where the frame was. The station handles real passengers, though, so filming there is restricted.

The station where PSY and HyunA dance on the platform and inside a train. It sits in Songdo International City, so it is less crowded and brighter than a central Seoul station, and that room is what produced the wide framing. Incheon Transit Corporation said filming enquiries for this station and Songdo Central Park rose sharply after the video came out.

Where PSY rides the carousel and dances. By the Seoul Facilities Corporation's count it was also the single most filmed location among the city's facilities in 2025. Admission is free and it connects straight to Children's Grand Park Station on Line 7, so one turn on the carousel is a complete visit.
